Booxter on the Mac App Store!

Booxter is on the Mac App Store!
It’s been there since opening day and so there are now lots of new Booxter users, welcome!
There’s actually 2 apps, Booxter Lite which is the same as the normal unlicensed Booxter download from the main web site and Booxter which is the same as the licensed version. All Mac App Store apps will run only on Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later. The website version runs on Mac OS X 10.4, 10.5 and 10.6.
Sales have been fantastic, I’m very lucky that the Mac App Store has brought Booxter to a much larger audience. Booxter has been in the top 5 grossing of the Lifestyle category for days now!
More work to do, more updates, have a Happy New Year everyone!

January 17th, 2011 at 4:28 pmI try Booxter (italian lang) but don’t know how to use the field “LOC Classificazione” that I suppose should contain the code of location on the bookshelf. It appears into the “Options” panel (and can select it) but not into the window “Modifica libro”. May please have a tip?
Thanks
Many regards -

January 26th, 2011 at 3:59 amWhat iPhone app do I need to have to use my iPhone as a bluetooth scanner? I have internet tethering turned on and the Booxter iPhone app installed, but it doesn’t seem to have a scanning menu. I could be wrong; that app is the least user-friendly app I’ve ever used, but I think I’ve seen everything in it and haven’t found the scanner. I tried using the iPhone camera, and that didn’t work either. iSight scanning is a last resort because it means reorganising my desk, taking my MacBook Pro out of clamshell mode, and carrying every book and DVD in the house to my desk. That’s thousands of trips I don’t want to make.

January 28th, 2011 at 1:00 amI hope I’m just missing something obvious but I don’t seem to be able to search by artist or title when adding items. I have a ton (3k+) of vinyl and most of it does not have a bar code or UPC/ASIN. Please tell me what I’ve missed (or point me to an actual support page rather than the blog)

February 3rd, 2011 at 10:28 amI’ve now bought “Booxter”. Two questions please
1) (the same posted long time ago) is it possible to have a filed (simple autoincrement counter: 1-2-3 etc..) which indicates the PHISICAL LOCATION of the book on the shelf? on 1K+/books shelf wolud be nice to find it quikly..
2) it would be better if the sync Boxter-Desktop/Boxter-iPhone should not require to restart, every new entry into the Desk app, the iPhone to have it in sync.
Thank you for the response and for such a beautifull program. -

February 9th, 2011 at 9:01 amWhat’s about the Preferences for Currency, State and Search? I can’t safe them, once I have altered them – they always are back on default, after resrtarting Booxter. OSX 10.6 / Booxter 2.6.
TIA for a solution. -

February 9th, 2011 at 2:51 pmThis problem occurs for some customers, I am investigating.
It seems as if Booxter tries to set up your preferences each time as if it’s starting from a new install. Only happens with certain people, other people are fine.
Try this, in the Terminal type:
defaults write com.deepprose.Booxter2 First\ Run\ Key -bool yes
That should set that key properly if it’s not set. Try that and see if the preferences are now being stored.

February 20th, 2011 at 10:40 pmI’m trying to use the current trial version of Booxter.
I can’t find instructions or a working help/support source.
What am I missing?
Big problem for me: video comes on but search never happens. I clicked on ‘search now’ and would hope to hear a ‘click’ or something to know the image was grabbed, but, nothing.
Help!

February 20th, 2011 at 11:27 pmHelp is available from the Help menu.
Make sure you have one or more search sites selected in the Preferences. Once a scan is made, you will hear a short beep and then the search will begin.

March 13th, 2011 at 2:57 pmIs it possible to have two ‘read’ sections – my wife and I share books and sometimes only one of us has read it and it would be great to record this. Any ideas about the best way ? Can I customise the columns / details ?
